Opportunity and position information:  Technician in Charge

Responsibilities of a Technician in Charge:       
          o Repair and maintain diesel engines
          o Schedule and administer fleet maintenance; assists in troubleshooting problems with equipment
          o Communicate availability of vehicles for service with dispatch and Service Manager
          o Delegate responsibilities as appropriate and monitor performance
          o Handle disciplinary concerns and employee development
          o Ensure compliance on a day-to-day basis with State, Federal and Company requirements.
          o Work closely with Contract Manager providing status of maintenance and budget requirements.
          o May order fuel for all vehicles, parts, and subcontract repair work
          o Supervise bus fueling.  May arrange services for building and ground keeping
          o Completes special projects as assigned.  Required to perform hands-on work activities.
          o Responsibilities are to maintain, repair and overhauls diesel vehicles
          o  Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; perform a variety of complicated tasks
         o   Train, motivate and direct the maintenance staff         

Job Requirements:
Minimum Education & Certifications Required:       
          o High school diploma or equivalent
          o Technical training preferred
          o Possess CDL Operator’s license with required endorsements
       
Experience & Skills Required:       
          o 3+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience.
          o May require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs.
          o Good written and oral communication skills.
          o Computer skills.
          o Industry experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines is preferred.
